Autism Speaks

SYNOPSIS:  Autism Speaks is a relatively new (2005) autism organization that has taken public awareness of the diagnosis and its challenges to a new level.  Because the creators have been able to access the entertainment industry, their ability to "get the word out" is very strong.  They believe they are the United States' "largest autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders; and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families."
