Myths and Legends

The purpose of this project is to develop an International Showcase of Mythology and Legend on the Web. The Enabling Support Foundation and the eLearning Association of Pakistan are partners in that development. Professor Shamshad from Pakistan is using technology along with his educational expertise and contacts to create eLAP as an international center for distance learning.

The Enabling Support Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit with a dual mission to support Persons with Disabilities and Education. At the present time ESF is providing writing tutorials to high school students in Morocco who want to increase English proficiency and have set up collaboration between Morocco and Australia. ESF has a growing partnership with the Caribbean Education Network that includes the start of a support group to help “problem children” by bringing together their parents and teachers as a member of the Advisory Board of CEN I am helping to plan a Summer Online conference on TeleEducation and several ESF will be presenting.

Prospective Staff
Bob Zenhausern searched 200 links to the mythologies of 20 cultures and has a prototype indexed webpage of these Mythologies.
Katherine Bolman is an art historian who has created a website devoted to ancient art and culture. She can provide the historical and cultural setting for any myth or legend. And can provide short classes on art and history.
Shirley Miller is a teacher in California who wants to explore the Myth of the Yeti/Sasquatch/Big Foot throughout the world. She has agreed to manage the project.
Michael Cunningham has created the Virtual Teachers Program where visiting teachers from anywhere in the world can give a lesson to local children. He has videos for the Folk Fairs he organizes and has 30 or more International presentations.

Plan of Operation
The strategy is to have students create web pages that are both informative and aesthetic. Then these individual pages need to be organized and indexed into the aesthetic myth center. The students get the opportunity to create websites as they learn about the myth and the history and culture behind that myth. And their work is published for all to see.
