We still have all of this paperwork?

"Any ideas for a system that keeps you current on paperwork and legal requirements and also prepared w/ indiviualized lessons ?"
This is actually a question that I found on a website similar to this one, but you can see that special educators are still struggling in this area.  She went onto describe that she was so overloaded with inputing information, having a disorganized system, and needing to organize in such a way, that she wanted to actually  spend with her son in the evening.  This is not the first time, nor the last that we will hear from other special educators like herself.
But, as we do move into the 21st century, you would think that most of anything that is needed to update anything or organize anything would be now accesse on a computer.  As I understand it, the State of NY is still working off of paper, trying "soon" to move into a computerized system.  So, how about some sounding off thoughts about how we might be able to help other special educators not lessen their paperwork, but and organzing system to help cut down on the chaos.  I personally am partial to a very visual color coded system in seperate binders, with tabs labeled etc.  Anybody else have any ideas how we might start at least helping those who are still not on a computerized system (which apparently are still a lot).?
Or, maybe somebody could even come up with an Excel spreadsheet of sorts (or something computerized) to help special educators organize?
Maybe, a little brainstorming session? Forum style.
