Connecting to GRASS ROOTS
There are four ways to connect to the Grass Roots MOO: However you get there- at the Grass Roots MOO Login screen type:
co guest if you are new, or co userid password if you have a personae.
- 1) Straight Telnet to moo.enabling.org
This will place you in a program called TinyFugue which will give you access to GrassRoots with a split screen, the top part being for output from the MOO and the bottom part for the commands that you send to the MOO. Use this if you do not have a specialized MOO client or a Web browser & system that supports Java (such as the latest version of Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer and Win95). You can also use this method if it is easier for you to use than the other two. When using this method, if you see "---More---", press the Tab key for more.
- If you have Windows 95 go to Start then Run, and type: telnet to access telnet.
- If you have a Unix or shell account at the command prompt type: telnet moo.enabling.org
- Other operating systems need telnet programs - see below
- 2) Via a MOO Client to moo.enabling.org:8888
For a short list of MOO Clients, see below.
- 3) Connect to Grass Roots via Web and Java Client
