<> Reading MOOmail Hello, this is Part One of the tutorial on MOOmail. In this tutorial, you will learn how to read and organize your MOOmail. OK, let's begin. Whenever you log onto GrassRoots, you will receive a notice that you have mail, if there is any. You will be given a list of the mail folders where there is new mail. For example: "You have new mail, type 'help mail' for info on reading it." "General 3 messages." "Chat 2 messages." The first example refers to your personal mail, which is under your persona's name. If people wish to send you MOOmail, they do so under that address. To see this mail, type: @read new If you do not wish to keep your mail, type: @remove last Or, you can use the number of the message you wish to delete. Remember that in MOOmail, no number signs are used when referring to message numbers. The second two examples refer to mail lists which are MOO wide in scope. General gives important announcements about happenings in this TBVR. Chat is just what it sounds like. To subscribe to these mailing lists, or any other mailing list, simply type: @subscribe list-name To see a list of the subjects discussed within a given mailing list, type: @mail list-name This should give you food for thought. In Part Two you will learn how to send a message in MOOmail. Good luck, and may your stay at GrassRoots be long and fruitful. The End
