There are several types of personae on Grass Roots:
PLAYERS
Players are usually new personae and are not able to build,
create, or own objects on Grass Roots at this stage. In order to
become a Builder, personae must have filled out their info and
description.. and must have a plan or project on GrassRoots they
wish to be involved in.
BUILDERS
Builders have a project(s) on Grass Roots. They can build rooms
and things. They help to expand this world. All builders have a
"home" on GrassRoots where they enter whenever they log
in. Some builders choose to build more than an office space; they
start building projects which contain more than one or two rooms.
They can only build projects that have educational value.
PROGRAMMERS
Programmers build, and they also can use the MOO language to
improve the things builders create, or they make brand new
things. In order to become promoted to Programmer, one must be a
builder and have completed the requirements listed on the Policy
Board in TapRoot.
TEACHERS
Teachers are real-life teachers or on-line mentors who manage
a group of K-12 students in Grass Roots. The teachers of students
are noted in their info files.
GARDENERS
Gardeners are the administrators of Grass Roots (called wizards
on other MOOs). They create players, builders, and programmers.
They connect rooms to public areas. They approve building
projects and raise quota. They make decisions about all kinds of
things.
Many Players become Builders.
Some Builders become Programmers.
Very few become Gardeners.
