The ESF Mission is to provide support to persons
with disabilities, enabling them to lead a fuller life and maximize their potential.
Towards that Mission, ESF provides access to advanced technology; nurtures educational
potential; improves the quality of life; and enhances the occupational opportunities for
persons with disabilities.
Provide Access to Advanced Technology
ESF is committed to the use of advanced communications and technology as the most
effective way of maximizing the potential of individuals with disabilities. One of the ESF
initiatives involves the refurbishing of donated computers and donating them to ESF
clients along with necessary training and access to the Internet. A major portion of this

Nurture Educational Potential
ESF has a major educational initiative to provide support and resources to teachers
enabling them to integrate curriculum requirements and Internet tools to move Education
into the 21st Century.
The program in NYC is includes learning disabled and immigrant children who are learning
English as a second language.
In the Boston Area, an Internet Mailing List has been created for Special Education
Teachers who will share successes and failures in the use of the Internet for their
students.
GrassRoots is an interactive On-line World created in
Text-based Virtual Reality where children are learning Literacy in a natural and highly
motivating environment.
Improve Quality of Life
ESF provides Support Discussions, IRC,
and MOO chat groups for persons with disabilities.
Enhance Occupational Opportunities
The ESF Transitions project provides
support for students with disabilities as they enter the adult world.
